Evident's portfolio of work in South East Asia and Pacific region has established us as a respected voice in child online safety and gender work.
Highlights from our growing list of completed projects are featured below and further details and examples are available on request.
Children and Young People
Evaluation of UNICEF EAPRO Regional Approach to Ending OCSEA
UNICEF East Asia and Pacific Regional Office
Evident is partnering with Child Frontiers to complete an evaluation of UNICEF EARPRO’s innovative strategic approach to progress child online protection within the ten ASEAN Member States. Two grants from Safe Online supported the strategic approach during the past eight years. Across 2025, the evaluation team is exploring impact of the approach, seeking to identify the evidence that confirms the stories of success (and challenges) that results from this complex strategic approach.
Trafficking and Migration
Landscape Analysis of Programming on Migration & Child Well-being
World Vision South East Asia Regional Office
Evident completed a rapid review of both recent World Vision programming and the broader evidence and practice landscape regarding safe migration and child wellbeing in Southeast and East Asia. We conducted a series of one-on-one and group consultations and undertook an iterative presentation/feedback process with the World Vision team that then led us to use this data to identify potential barriers and enablers for the organization as they undertake new programming design and resource mobilization.

Gender-based Violence
Impacts of TFGBV on Children and Adolescents -Curriculum and Resources
Australia’s eSafety Commissioner
Evident supported the development of a new module within eSafety’s training course for Pacific frontline professionals who support victim-survivors of technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV). The course is a partnership between eSafety and the Pacific Community (SPC) to strengthen institutional responses to online and tech-facilitated harms.
The new module addresses the impacts of TFGBV on children and adolescents. Emerging theory and best practice was used to co-design and pilot the module with experts and frontline professionals in the Pacific. The module covers red flags, frames responses within systems thinking and provides opportunities to learn and practice skills for supporting victim/survivors and impacted children.

LGBTQ+ Rights and Programming
Project Possible
Project Possible was an innovative counter-trafficking program to address gaps to support LGBTQI+ populations that remain underserved and vulnerable to trafficking in Bangkok and Pattaya, Thailand. The first year of the project conducted research to further understand the population and to co-design, pilot, and refine activities that provided access to safe and sustainable future opportunities.
The project was implemented by Marron Institute at New York University, SWING Foundation, Equal Asia Foundation, and Evident. Funding from the United States Department of State was unfortunately terminated in early 2025.

Boys and Masculinities
Special Issue on the Sexual Exploitation of Boys
In 2023 we saw our Special Issue of the International Journal of Child Abuse & Neglect published, edited by our Director, Mark. The Special Issue is titled ‘Global Insights into the Sexual Exploitation of Boys’ and features ground-breaking research from around the world. You can access the issue here
Together with the authors of these articles, we created six concise videos and six research-to-action practice briefs for frontline workers. These resources are designed to facilitate engagement with the findings, even for those with limited time. The concise videos, ranging from 2 to 5 minutes, provide insightful glimpses into the research findings.
